Where do I find Cheap Backpacks?

:Backpacks are used to carry gear for outdoor activities and travel. Most of your activity gear or stuff you need when you travel is carried in the backpack. However, most backpacks are highly priced with the price ranging from $150 to $250. The option for those with a tight budget would be to look out for cheap backpacks. A cheap backpack does not necessarily mean a low grade backpack. Very often you can get the backpack of your choice at affordable price.

Cheap backpacks come at a price less than $100. Cheap backpacks are made of treated waterproof materials. This ensures that anything contained in the backpack will stay dry. The treated material used for making the bag ensures that the water just streams off the cheap backpack and doesn?t seep into the bag and soak your belongings. Cheap backpacks also have features to ensure you are comfortable during your travels or outdoor activity. Shoulder straps are padded to reduce the discomfort of carrying the load.

They also have sternum and waist straps that helps add to the stability. They have side pockets that can be used to hold drinks, maps, or accessories that need to be quickly retrieved. Cheap backpacks offer almost all the features available in the more expensive backpacks at a lesser price.

Where do I find food for Backpacking?

:My personal favorites are the meals from Mary Janes Farm. Their packages are lightweight, the food is organic, fresh and not salty, unlike some others that I’ve tried. The packaging is a lightweight paper-base product that is easily packed-out subsequent to enjoying the contents. Mary Janes Farm is a serious improvement to the salty, freeze-dried meals in heavy packaging that I used to carry and consume while on the trail.
If you enjoy quality dried fruits and vegetables, try Just Tomatoes, or, if you prefer to dry your own backpacking food, we suggest dehydrators from Dry It and of course, don’t forget the SALE ITEMS

Are there stores online that specialize in backpacking camping gear?

: Is this a trick question? Of course there are online stores that carry backpacking camping gear exclusively. The hard part would be to find the right one for you. I’m sure you could choose between ‘discount’ or ‘designer’ shops. And of course there would be ‘cold weather’ and ‘warm weather’ sites. I think

I would be afraid to type in a term as general as ‘backpacking camping gear‘. May I suggest further reducing the field by including a brand name. For example Coleman gear or european gear. If you have a budget, you should look for value and there are undoubtedly sites that compare prices (Sears vs Fred Meyer).

Do you need high altitude equipment (Alpen) or tropical (Light Weight)? Some sites will be a hodgepodge of items. Others will be well organized and easy to use. Used gear may be an option. Military surplus should be explored. Plan ahead because the links will be too numerous to check one by one. Be aware of shipping costs. An inexpensive tent from Nepal might cost as much as a local one after freight is added.

How long will you be willing to wait for delivery? Will you need a one, two, three or more person tent? And through it all, be careful. Shopping online has it’s own unique risks. If the deal sounds too good to be true, start rethinking the purchase. Many operators would be happy to charge your card and then vanish into the weboshpere. When your stuff arrives, check it for damage. Then go forth and have fun!

Backpacking sleeping bags,do I need a special sleeping bag for backpacking?

:For starters it all depends on what time of year you are going on your hike. The weight will differ from a warm weather bag to a cold weather bag. Your average warm weather bag will be around 3 pounds and will stuff easily. Cold weather bags will usually be a bit heavier due to the insulating properties in them, but they will be a few pounds heavier. When you decide to get a backpack bag, get one with a good stuff sack and is rated to the correct temperature.
