Which is the best kind of bag for a freshman?

I already asked this question before, but everyone was saying things involving lockers. Well, I don’t think I’ll have a locker cause the school is having construction. So which one is better? Messenger, tote, or backpack?

Get a tote bag because they are cute, stylish, and large enough for books. In my school, almost all the girls have totes. You can get nice ones at hollister or aeropostale, although i got mine at juciy couture.

This is my new Teton Explorer 4000. Its a 4000 cubic inch (65L) backpack. 2 medium sized pockets on one side and one larger pocket on the other give you plenty of room to store all your gear. Another large pocket on the top will hold raingear, trail bars, maps with plenty of extra room for more. The sleeping bag compartment is a little small but should work out nicely with a light weight sleeping bag.There are plenty of extra straps and tie off places to attach any gear from sleeping mats to tents. The shoulder straps are completly adjustable to fit any height. I am 6′2” and it fits me well. The hip pad and lumbar regions are also heavily padded to give you extra comfort for longer hikes.Comes with a large rain cover to keep your bag dry.
